The maturity and constancy that our older members have contributed to the team, have not only been integral to the growth and performance of AF Fasteners, but have enabled us to bring in new apprentices, provide high-quality training and develop a passionate, reliable, and diverse workforce focused on customer satisfaction. We have also heavily invested in an Apprenticeship Programme recruiting 5 Apprentices in the last two years and further investing in the Degree Apprenticeship for Material Science.
Louise started working in Manufacturing from 1989 making Max Factor Cosmetics for Procter & Gamble. 10 years later when the business moved to Ireland, Louise moved into Food Packaging for 20 years followed by a period of time in Print Packaging. Louise joined AF Fasteners in 2021 as Operations Manager and was made General Manager in August 2022. Louise brings a wealth of management experience and oversees the AF Fasteners site. This is Louise’s first role in Aerospace. Louise is delighted to be working at AF Fasteners where she supports and further delivers the ethos of being a supportive and nurturing company to all members.
A long-standing employee of AF Fasteners, Andrew joined the team in 1982 working on the Capstan Lathes. Over time he progressed to trimmers, thread rollers, and operating heading machines. In 1995, Andrew qualified as an Inspector and took on the role of Production Manager in 2005. Andrew has been working as Engineering Manager since March 2014.
Chris joined AF Fasteners in December 2022 as HSHEQ Manager. Chris has over 40 years of experience in Engineering, starting initially in the family business completing a time served Engineering apprenticeship. Since then Chris has held multiple roles such as Manufacturing Manager, Group Quality Manager and General Manager in industries including Minerals, Rubber, Automotive, Foundry and Machining manufacturing. Chris is proud to work at AF Fasteners, which he describes as an inclusive, friendly environment.
Andy began working in Aerospace Fasteners in April 1984 as an apprentice at LISI Aerospace (Hi-Shear Fasteners). In 1990, he moved into the sales department and over the next 10 years progressed to becoming UK Sales Manager. In 2001, Andy moved to Alcoa (Fairchid Fasteners) as Senior Account Manager, and after 10 years moved on to become Director of Sales Europe for Align Aerospace. Andy joined AF Fasteners in March 2013 as Managing Director and has been responsible for implementing many improvements, including production line development, establishment of Titanium, and procurement of new contracts.
Liz is a qualified management accountant and has over 15 years’ experience providing financial guidance in the manufacturing sector. Liz joined us in Aug 2017 after spending 2 years as Financial Manager with a leading food manufacturer. Prior to this she lived and worked in Sydney, Australia for 3 years. In 2000, Liz joined Mono Pumps as a Credit Control Supervisor and finished in 2013 as a Management Accountant after completing her CIMA qualification with them. In her role as Financial Controller here at AF Fasteners, she takes on the responsibility for all our financial functions.
Rose is a CIPD qualified Human Resource professional with more than fifteen years’ experience in a broad range of HR fields. Rose joined the board of A F Fasteners in January 2014 on a part-time basis. Rose supports the Board and Management Team in driving the people agenda including succession planning, development, recruitment and training. As the business seeks to grow and expand, attracting and retaining the right people are integral to our business success.
