Our highly valued workforce are central to the ongoing success of AF Fasteners. Many of our 30 strong employees have been with us for over 30 years and offer expertise, knowledge and skills that come from years of commitment and development within the industry.
The maturity and constancy that our older members have contributed to the team, have not only been integral to the growth and service of AF Fasteners, but has enabled us to bring in new apprentices, provide high quality training and develop a passionate, reliable and diverse team.




Andy began working in Aerospace Fasteners in April 1984 as an apprentice at LISI Aerospace (Hi-Shear Fasteners).
In 1990 he moved into the sales department and over the next 10 years progressed to becoming the UK Sales Manager. In 2001 Andy moved to Alcoa (Fairchid Fasteners) as Senior Account Manager, and after 10 years moved
again to become Director of Sales Europe for Align Aerospace. Andy joined AF Fasteners in March 2013 as Managing Director and has been responsible for implementing many improvements, including production line development, establishment of Titanium and procurement of new contracts.

Andrew Mitchell
QAHSE Manager
Prior to employment at AF Fasteners, Andrew spent 29 years working in the Automotive industry, 12 of which were as
a Quality Manager. Andrew joined AF Fasteners in May 2011 as our QAHSE Manager. Within the laboratory, his roles include Microscopic and Macro examination, Magnetic particle Inspection, Tensile Testing and Vickers Hardness Testing. Andrew also verifies and signs off Work Drawings, Route Cards and certificates of conformity for products dispatched
to our customers. As Quality Manager, Andrew ensures the Quality Management system is maintained and meets
the requirements of AS9100 and ISO 9001.
Kelvin Sargeant
Production Manager
Before joining AF Fasteners, Kelvin spent 25 years in Aircraft Fastener manufacturing. 10 of these years were as a multi skilled machine setter operator and a following 15 years were spent managing production teams. Kelvin joined AF Fasteners as Production Manager in January 2015. His main responsibilities are ensuring all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to, overseeing the production activities for the site, managing the production plan,
maintaining high levels of customer service and establishing and effectively managing the production team.

Andrew Bennett
Engineering Manager
A long standing employee of AF Fasteners, Andrew joined the team in 1982 working on the Capstan Lathes. Over
time he progressed to trimmers, thread rollers and operating heading machines. In 1995 Andrew qualified as an Inspector, and took on the role of Production Manager in 2005. Andrew has been working as Engineering
Manager since March 2014.

Ann Dickinson
Sales
Ann has worked as the office Administrator for AF Fasteners since 2013. Ann works with purchase orders, customer enquiries, dispatch, quotes and all other office administration.

Liz McKay
Finance Director
Liz is a qualified management accountant and has over 15 years’ experience providing financial guidance within the manufacturing sector. Liz joined us in Aug 2017 after spending 2 years as Financial Manager with a leading food manufacturer. Prior to this she lived and worked in Sydney, Australia for 3 years. In 2000 Liz joined Mono Pumps, a global manufacturer of industrial pumps and oilfield equipment as a Credit Control Supervisor and finished in 2013 as a Management Accountant after completing her CIMA qualification with them. In her role as Financial Controller here at AF Fasteners she takes on the responsibility for all our financial functions.

Rose Grace
HR Director
Rose is a CIPD qualified Human Resource professional with more than fifteen years’ experience in a broad range of HR fields, Rose joined the board of A F Fasteners in January 2014 on a part time basis. Rose supports the Board and Management Team in driving the people agenda including, succession planning, development, recruitment and training. As the business strategy is about growth and expansion, the right people are integral to our business success.

Barry began his working career as an apprentice at AF Aerospace as a CNC Turner. After 15 years working on the shop floor he was given the opportunity of his first Customer Service role working with companies such as Bae Systems and Airbus. Barry then progressed into Sales Manager and Business Development roles for SPS Aerostructures and Gardner Aerospace. During his working career, he has held positions in the Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Defence, Subsea and Rail sectors covering manufacturing and treatment processes. Barry joined AF Fasteners in January 2018 as General Manager covering our facilities in Glossop and Southend.
